Position Summary
The Program Support position provides a wide range of logistical and operational assistance across all programs. The candidate must be flexible with work assignments, as the location and nature of work may vary daily or weekly depending on program needs in Hamilton, Brantford, and surrounding communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support setup and takedown for programs and events (e.g., tables, chairs, equipment)
- Deliver program materials between sites in Hamilton and Brantford
- Perform yard maintenance, including lawn care and snow removal
- Assist with general cleaning duties: sanitizing, laundry, vehicle cleaning, and appliance sanitation (e.g., fridges, freezers)
- Load/unload skids from trucks, stock shelves, and bag items
- Act as a bus monitor during staff absences
- Attend professional development sessions and all staff/team meetings
- Inform supervisor of repairs or replacements required to maintain safety and security standards
- Adhere to all organizational policies and relevant legislation
- Complete and submit all required reports monthly
- Accurately punch in/out daily using the timekeeping system
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager
- Work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed

Working Conditions
- Work takes place in various indoor/outdoor environments, often in all weather conditions
- Physical duties include standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, and driving
- Potential exposure to infectious waste, diseases, and other health risks
- Frequent interaction with children, families, staff, visitors, and external agencies
- Local travel required regularly; extended travel may occasionally be necessary
Qualifications
- Valid Food Handler’s Certificate
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certification
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable daily access to a personal vehicle
- Medical Clearance
- Understanding of First Nations histories and realities
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs daily
- Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Screening
